Tasi’s IQ problem

A professor and frequent guest on Taiwan’s political talk shows mentioned President Tsai Ing-wen’s “IQ problem” and “trustworthiness problem”.  He is not a psychologist nor a psychiatrist, and he gave no explanation of these “problems” he cited.

Let’s talk about them here.

A May 3-5, 2017, Taiwan China Times poll showed 56.1% do not trust President Tsai Ing-wen.  This is her “trustworthiness problem”.

There are three aspects here:  emotional trustworthiness, political trustworthiness, and psycho-social trustworthiness.  Common manifestations include divisiveness, blaming others, dismissal of protests against her and dismissal of public petition, and refusal to face challenges and refusal to commit to problem solving.

One commentator asked:  How can one trust a government that displays distrust of its people?  An example here is the setting up of three layers of razor barbed wire fences around the Legislative Yuan building, and setting up a layer of razor barbed wire fences around a concert hall where President Tsai Ing-wen and foreign dignitaries attended a concert.

Only a responsible government can win the trust of the people.  The new work schedule law has not taken responsibility for the inconveniences and negative impact the law has imposed on small businesses.  Reforms should create benefits for the people, not obstructions and difficulties.

Apparently the people now feel that the government of the Democratic Progressive Party and of President Tsai Ing-wen have been practicing fake benevolence.  The people no longer trust their fake benevolence anymore.

President Tsai Ing-wen’s “IQ problem” also has three aspects:  her emotional IQ, her political IQ and her psycho-social IQ.

One indication of her emotional IQ is her divisiveness, her “dictatorial decision-making”, and her refusal to face challenges.  She has shied away from addressing the nation on important occasions, such as on the one-year anniversary in office, a tradition of past presidents who addressed the nation on that day to tout their accomplishments in their first year in office.

Her political “IQ problem” is her single minded emphasis on politics and complete dismissal of economic strategy, her refusal to listen to public opinion, disregarding public needs, not responding to public petition.

Her psycho-social “IQ problem” is shown in the way she protects herself with layers of razor barbed wire fences.  She attended a concert in Taichung on May 28, 2017.  The concert was attended by foreign dignitaries.  The concert hall was surrounded by a layer of razor barbed wire fence.  This reflects an antisocial mindset and a psycho-social dysfunction.  This indicates a psycho-social sickness.

It seems that the people of Taiwan elected a woman who is suffering from mental illness.
